The Lantua Link Visitors Centre and Viewing Platform is a dedicated facility in Hong Kong that allows the public to get up close to the impressive engineering of the Lantau Link, a crucial transport corridor connecting Hong Kong's main urban areas to Lantau Island.
Located on the northeast coast of Lantau Island, right next to the Tsing Ma Bridge, the centre and its viewing platform offer a stunning vantage point to appreciate one of the world's most iconic suspension bridges. It's a popular spot for tourists, photography enthusiasts, and anyone interested in engineering and infrastructure.
1. The Viewing Platform
This is the main attraction. The platform is strategically positioned to provide a panoramic, unobstructed view of the Tsing Ma Bridge.
· Spectacular Views: You can see the massive scale of the bridge's towers and the cables supporting the deck, which carries both road and rail traffic.
· Photography: It's an excellent spot for photography, especially during sunrise, sunset, and at night when the bridge is beautifully illuminated.
· Up-Close Perspective: The platform gets you remarkably close to the bridge, allowing you to truly appreciate its immense size and the engineering required to build it.
2. The Visitors Centre
The centre complements the viewing experience with informative exhibits. It's housed in a distinctive, circular building.
· Exhibits and Models: Inside, you'll find detailed scale models of the Tsing Ma Bridge and the entire Lantau Link. These models help visualize the complexity of the project.
· Informational Panels: Displays explain the history, design, and construction challenges of the bridges. You can learn about the materials used, the forces the bridge withstands (like typhoons), and its role in Hong Kong's infrastructure.
· Souvenir Shop: A small shop sells souvenirs, including models, postcards, and books related to the bridge and Hong Kong's engineering achievements.
3. Hobby NaNa Mega Train Store and Hobby NaNa Cafe. With comprehensive collection worldwide model train including China, Japan, Europe and North America models. Most likely a charming, relaxed cafe where you can unwind, enjoy a good drink, and spend your time creatively with various provided hobbies.
